Alanna Shaikh opens her TedX talk with a litany of her credentials as though she knows millions will attempt to discredit the information she’s about to deliver.

Shaikh has worked in Global Health for 20-years, and she specializes in health systems and what happens when health systems experience severe shocks. Sound familiar?
She’s also worked in global health journalism and has written about bio-security and global health for newspapers and web outlets. And she’s published a book about the significant global health threats facing us as a planet.
Shaikh has supported and led epidemiology efforts that range from evaluating Ebola centers to visiting Ebola treatment centers. And she participated in Avian influenza preparedness.
